I just followed a tutorial on how to setup a ringtone (which, consisted of placing the ringtone in a video file and putting it in the phone).

Everything works fine except, when I try to assign the video file as my ringtone (pressing the assign button), it automatically assigns it as my screensaver and there doesn't seem to be an option to set it as my ringtone.

The video is also under 30 seconds long like the tutorial said.

Yea I have the same problem too. I am with virgin mobile in canada. I'm hoping that the different companies don't alter the software. as for the prior poster what provider are you with? I have been trying to do this for a couple days now and every tutorial leads me to the same thing an assigned screen saver. I watched a tutorial on youtube where the guy went to assign and it gave him the option of screen saver or ringtone. WTF! I REALLY want to put custom ringtones on this thing as the mainstream ones suck. Can anyone PLEASE HELP IM BEGGING YOU!

I'm with Bell Canada and yeah, I figured they took the feature out. It's been quite a few months now since I posted this thread, and I actually tried all the ways possible to uploading a ringtone to my phone (except using the internet on the phone, which I don't plan to pay for and I doubt that would work anyways). In the end, these companies just want you to buy their ringtones, and not only are these ringtones not cheap, there's not too much of a good selection either.

Other than that, it's been 6 months since I bought my Rumour and I'm surviving without the customize your own ringtone feature...My phone's mostly on vibrate anyways.

Really sucks though that they pull out features from the phone, just to try to make better business profits. Oh well, business is business.
