LG Glimmer help!

Hello everyone I recently purchased the LG Glimmer and I am loving it! except for a few minor things:

RING TONE PROBLEM
I know how to set a ringtone guys im not dumb; but when I go to menu/options/sound & touch/ringers/all calls/my audio/RINGTONE and i select set and it reads that the new ringtone has been set. But than when someone calls all I hear is "Call from *Name*" this happens with both my rings and my text messages. It's really annoying because I want to set my own ringtone. How do i fix this?

CUSTOM RINGS
I'm guessing I have to use bitpim because LG and Alltel having gone crazy over free tones?

And yeah thats it.... any answers please post.
