LG 8700 boot up problems

New to this thread and not sure if this questions has been answered. Tried the search and came up empty handed.

My phone is new and never been dropped or in water. The problem is, when I turn the phone on, it shows the LG symbol and then shuts off. The battery is charged, been on the charger all night, and also tried linking to the computer.

Why is the phone turning on and not getting past the loading screen?

Interesting, no one has had this problem? Anyone? lol

Figured out the problem, turns out that it was the charger and as for connecting to the computer. It still wont sync but thats another problem for another day.

I now have the same problem. I downloaded some ringtones into my friends LG8700, same as my model, via Bitpim. But after the second download, his phone never rebooted. It just flashes the TELUS entry image and nevers starts up. I have tried to re-establish connection via Bitpim to delete the new ringtones, but no luck.

My provider wants over 150$ to just look at it. Does anyone know how to re-establish, reset or flash programming so as to fix this problem? I purchased a used phone for my friend, since it was my fault, but would like to get this one working so things are'nt a total loss for me...

We were with Telus and now am with Bell. The phone is also bell but I havent tried the computer since the link problem... not sure if it will work after all this time... I dont have it on me right now.. Could we or you have gotten a virus? It should boot up if you charge it with a good power cable. The one from the computer didnt seem to charge or link and is from the phone supplier.

I fixed my problem. lol I linked to my good phone and simply switched the data cable to the other non-working phone once the link with BitPim was established. I now and erasing all the ringtones (over 500) that were entered. The phone now boots up and all is back to normal. I now have an extra LG8700 phone and will probably switch my oldest daughters LG4600 and upgrade her calling pleasure a bit.
