From what I have been reading, this is a very common problem with the
LG Glimmer. The Glimmer is made for many different networks, and have many different names. It's also known as the UX-830, Vantage and
Spyder.
All are basically the same phone running different firmware (software), all have the same problem with the touch screen.
And the only way to resolve it is to ship it into LG for a replacement. Once LG receives it, and verifies there is no user damage or water damage, they will replace it.
As for getting your contacts and pictures off of it, I would recommend purchasing software called DataPilot by Susteen. It comes with the USB data Cable, and the software will allow you to export your contacts into the program. It even gives you the ability to print them.
Once you recieve the replacement phone, you can plug it into your computer, and put all the contacts back on your phone.
It should allow you to save your pictures and media as well. Runs from $15 - $30. Can be found at major retailers. I got mine from Best Buy.
