    Re: lg venus software

    Hello!
First of all : I'm not very good in english so please dont give to much attention to it é_è

Concerning your pictures and sounds (not ringtones) you can add them by simply connecting your Venus to the computer via the usb cable and accessing the usb mass storage in your phone:menu/tools.
A folder will appears on your computer and you will only need to put your files on them.

If you want some ringtones, sending them by email didnt work for me.
The only way I've found is to follow these steps:

If you've not already get your ringtones, you can create them by downloading Audacity. Personnally, I put full Mp3 songs but if for some reason, you need a specific part of a song or only wanted to change the quality because of a need of free space, its a good way! Very easy to play with.

The second thing you'll need is Bitpim. This software will allow you to put ringtones in your Venus by bypassing your provider's Copyrighted Files protection.

The third and last thing is only a drivers: Your computer will need to recognize your phone. In the case of the Venus 8800, you will find it on the verizon website. Just need to follow the instructions.

The hardest part is coming. I dont know if all the phone will react the same way because mine take a lot of time before I succeed:

Plug your Phone via the usb cable to the computer. An option to connect it to the computer will follow. Just say no.

Now, in BitPim, you will have to enter the information about your Venus. ( If it dont appears by himself, just go in edit/settings).

On the Phone Type case, enter yours ( but if it dosent work at the end of this little tutorial, try LG-VX9100 (en v2). When I put initially the LG 8800, it says that my phone was blocked and bla bla bla)

Concerning the Port, you can enter Auto. It should recognize your phone.
You dont need to fill up the end of the page.

Close that box and return on the main page of BitPim. At the left, you should see Filesystem. Click on it and a little blue folder will appear. Click on it too and some folders will magically *or not* appear.

If it works: Great! It was the harder part to reach hahaha

You'll only need to put the files inside the brew/shared/... (in its right place!!)

The last step is to click on the phone icon on the navigation bar (send phone data) by choosing what you want to add to your phone.

Your Venus will reboot automatically and your ringtones/pictures.. should be here!

I'm wishing you good luck and hope that It will helps you ^_^
