I've had my LG Cu515 for a few weeks now and frankly I am frustrated by lack of support by AT&T and LG that I am contemplating getting rid of the phone and going back to a Motorola or upgrade to an iPhone.
I bought this phone primarily because of the reported ability to sync with a PC and for the ability to store multiple phone numbers for a single entry in the phone book.
I would like to move my contacts from the phone to my PC. I believe I bought the correct USB cable and my setting are correct and the PC recognizes the phone as a separate drive when attached to the PC as the phone charges from the PC. It also shows up in My Computer as LG Phone but device manager does not see it as a modem even when the USB Connection is set to Data Service. It does not see the MicroSD card installed that I can tell. I have dragged pictures and MP3s to the "drive" but cannot locate them from any of the menus within the phone. I can however take pictures with the phone and save them to the SD Card. What I can not do is get the LG Phone Manager, Data Pilot, or LG Sync software to recognize the devise. I have been through the configurations steps dozens of times but each time I try to sync using LG Sync I get the following error message:
Initialize connection with LG Desktop.
Synchronization failed.
Failed to connect to the phone
Check the COM port and connect in Idle mode.
I have even installed this software on a different PC and a laptop. All running Windows XP SP3 and fully updated.
Apparently no one including LG has the USB Modem Drivers for the CU515.
If anyone out there can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: CU515 USB Drivers
I have the same problem. I was completely amazed how little effort it seems AT&T put into supporting PC connectivity in this phone. LG wasn't much better.
I was able to find modem drivers for a similar version of the phone from the Sprint website, and they work -- at least just for actually using the phone as a modem. I can't post links yet, or I'd link it to you. I looked under downloads for the LG Fusic to find the software.
I got my CU515 to show up as a COM port in the LG Phone Manager, but I still can't connect to my phone. I get the "Due to the malfunction, despite idle screen, it can be failed to connect" error. In addition, the screen on my phone says "Insufficient Memory", even when I have absolutely nothing on it except the factory default settings.
Hopefully the modem software I found can help you, but so far I haven't gotten it to work as anything except just a modem.Last edited by verlaner; 01-01-2009 at 02:33 AM. Reason: Fusic has a c, not a q

Re: CU515 USB Drivers
If you connect it as a mass storage device, it will allow you to access the micro SD card. Go to settings, connection, and set it to mass storage. plug it into your usb, and you should be able to access the files. Set it to Data service to act as a modem.

Re: CU515 USB Drivers
Seems the driver can be DL'd from the LGE site from here:
us.lge.com/support/download/search/1000000313_AA_DR__3.jhtml
Looks like the file to get is: LGUSBModemDriver_Eng_Ver_4.5.exe
Google "LGUSBModemDriver_Eng_Ver_4.5.exe" and start reading.
Don't know how this page was discovered; I lifted this link from another site. Use this page to search for CU515 software or drivers and you get 0 hits.
LGE makes it VERY hard to get to any of this stuff. I wonder why, it is terrible for its reputation and thus sales.
