LG Rhythm custom ringtones

Is it possible to assign custom ringtones on an LG Rhythm? I have tried using Bitpim but the program can't recognize my phone through the USB cable (I don't have/can't find the correct drivers; I use the LG cable included with my phone).

Basically I'm looking for someone who has done the posted ways to assign ringtones to LGs specifically with a Rhythm, because I can't get any of the ways listed to work for me.

I have been looking for an answer to this for hours. basically i have yet to find anything. im in the same boat as you are. i've tried doing it through the Axcess alltel website and tons of wap uploader websites. this cant even be done through using an sd card. i think this phone has been designed to not allow custom ringtones in any way... unless you buy them of course.

Okay, scratch everything that i have said. I have found ONE and only one source of sending free rintones to the Lg rhythm (alltel). The website ventones.com must be used. It literally is the only website that has worked among all the others i've tried. It is entirely free and fairly quick and simple. upon registering, use the ringtone maker (even if you already have made a ringtone) by uploading the mp3 file (or whatever) to the website... then follow the instructions. You have to use the web browser on the phone, but it works. Again, this is the ONLY website that has worked for me. Good luck!!!

Oh... and one more thing. when you get to the part about "receiving the ringtone", you have to use option number 2. Getting it through a text message did not work for me... so that's the part where you have to use the web browser on your phone.

P.S. The ringtones need to be "about" nowhere longer than 20 seconds long in order to be saved as an actual RINGTONE rather than just an audio file to your phone.

So I was looking online and I have found the answer. Go onto ventones and create profile or whatever you want to call it. When you are ready to send the ringtone that you have created or found send it to your phone. One of the options will be something Users that are having trouble downloading or setting ringtones. Mark this option (just to let you know, you have to have internet access on your LG rhythm for this to work). It will send a link to your phone. Click on the link and it will automatically download the song right to 'My Ringers' I actually just found this out.

So have fun and make as many ringtones as you possible can.

Well - that little experiment with Ventones cost me $2.00. But it worked! Ventones throw me 2 warning - one said it wouldn't work but it did. I don't get the "drag the white box to" business, I couldn't drag it "to" anywhere. Just clicking on the "create" button seems to have worked. I have 23 hours left on my Day Pass. I have lots more mp3's to load!
There is another way to get ringtones into a Rhythm. Not mp3's though, just mid's. It's with a data cable and the Ringtone Editor in DataPilot. I'll post details if anybody cares.

i have tried ventones, and for some reason it says 'Download Failed' everytime i try to download one of my ringtones in the web browser on my phone. i even tried downloading a ringtone that was less than 20 seconds and it still failed. one time the ringtone saved in my audios folder but it wasn't in the 'my ringers' folder. What can i do?

I have tried ventones and it sent my custom ringtone to my phone. The only problem is it was not sent to my ringers but to my audio. Can anyone please tell me how I can get it to set as an actual ringtone?
