Unknown error message

I downloaded pics and mp3's to a micro sd card. The music plays fine but when I go to view the pics I get the following message " Unknown error".

What would cause this and how can I fix it ?

My phone is an LP shine cu720

Have you tried converting the image files to make sure it is supported by your phone?

Yes they're all jpeg and the phone supports that format.

I think the problem may be the file size, I'll have to check on it and get back

Ok , I reduced the resolution of the pics and all is fine.
