LG Quantum crash / save pictures

I bought a new LG quantum about 3 months ago. Everything was running smoothly until today. This morning the phone screen went black, I pressed the menu button and it went back to the standard menu. Then the screen went black again and flashed to the LG welcome screen. The phone locked on this screen. The phone would not even power down. I pulled the battery and sim card to power cycle the phone. When powering back up, the phone locks on the LG welcome screen and will not go any further. My Carrier is replacing the phone however, since the LG Quantum doesn't offer an SD Slot, the pictures I had saved to the phone have yet to be backed up. Wouldn't usually be a big deal but i have a tone of my pre-wedding pics on there that I would love to recover. Has anyone heard of this issue. Is there any fixes?

did you try removing the battery for at least 30 seconds then trying again?
