why can't I hear sound when I put video on my computer from my phone

I have an LG rhythm and for the life of me I can't figure out why I can't hear the audio when I transfer a video from my phone to my computer and before you all say codec issues it worked before I have videos on my facebook from my phone and you can hear the sound just fine and I did the exact same thing but now theres no sound someone please help me its very annoying that this all the sudden won't work. I was using windows media player now it just plays silently kinda pointless when you want to hear the sound.

The first thing I thought of was a codec missing on wmp. Have you tried using another video player like VLC?
