Turning Bluetooth ON/OFF

1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Go to Bluetooth, which is located Under Wireless & networks.
4. Tap Bluetooth to turn it ON or OFF.

Transferring Files via Bluetooth

1. From the Home screen, touch the All apps icon.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Go to Bluetooth, which is located under Wireless & networks.
4. Turn Bluetooth ON.
5. Now go to the file that you want to transfer.
6. Then tap Share -> Bluetooth.
7. Now tap the device to which you want to share the file.

Pairing with another Bluetooth Device

1. From the Home screen, tap All apps.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Go to Bluetooth, which is located under Wireless & networks.
4. Tap Bluetooth to turn this setting ON.
5. Next, if it’s necessary, tap Search for devices,
6. Tap the device you with which you want to pair.
7. If you’re requester to enter a password, try entering the default 1234 or 0000 password.
8. Accept the pairing on the other device.

Turning GPS ON/OFF


1. From the Home screen, tap All apps.
2. Go to Settings -> tap Location access -> tap GPS satellites, and turn the setting ON or OFF, as desired.

Turning NFC ON/OFF


1. From the Home screen, tap All apps.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Under Wireless & network, select More.
4. Turn the NFC switch to ON or OFF, as desired.

Reading an NFC Tag


1. Turn the NFC ON.
1. Then place the Nexus 4 against the NFC antenna of the device you want to share your file with, or against the printed tag.
2. Your Nexus 4 will play a notification sound after the smartphone has read the tag.
3. Then, the content from the tag will be displayed on the screen of the phone.

Turning Android Beam ON/OFF

With Android Beam you can send all kinds of files via NFC to other NFC enabled devices. You can the Android Beam to send videos, web pages, music tracks, and much more. The feature is very easy to use, all you need to do is bring the two devices together, usually back to back, and after that simply tap the screen of your phone.

To turn the Android Beam ON/OFF, follow the next steps:

1. From the Home screen, tap All apps.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap More, which is located under Wireless & network.
4. Turn the Android Beam switch to ON or OFF, as desired.

Sharing Content via Android Beam


2. First off, make sure NFC is enabled on both devices.
3. Open the screen that contains the file you want to share, such as a video or a web page.
4. Place the back of your Nexus 4 against the NFC antenna of the device you want to share your file with.
5. After the devices are connected, you’ll hear a notification sound and the size of the image from your screen will be reduced.
6. You will then see the message Touch to beam.
7. At that point, tap any spot on the screen.
8. And the content you wanted to share will be displayed on the screen of the other device.
