Sending or Receiving Messages

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Messaging.
2. Tap New message, located at the top right corner of the screen.
3. Tap the recipient field and enter the phone number of the desired contact, or select the desired contact from the drop-down menu.
4. Tap the message field and enter the desired message.
5. When you’re finished, tap Send.

Sending or Receiving Multimedia Messages (MMS)

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Messaging.
2. Tap New message, located at the top right corner of the screen.
3. Tap the recipient field and enter the phone number of the desired contact, or select the desired contact from the drop-down menu.
4. Tap the message field and enter the desired message.
5. When you’ve finished, tap the Attach icon located at the bottom left corner of the screen.
6. Then select the media type that you want to use. Choose from Picture, Video, Audio, etc. For the purpose of this tutorial, we’ll select Picture, but the steps are similar for the other options as well.
7. Touch the folder containing the picture that you want to attach.
8. Check the image or images that you want to attach to your text and tap OK when done.
9. Tap Send MMS when ready.
10. Congratulations! The MMS has been sent.
11. To return to the Home screen, tap the Home key and if you want to open a MMS that you recently received, simply tap the Messaging icon again -> touch the desired thread to open and your MMS will be displayed.

Forwarding a Message

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Messaging.
2. Tap the message thread that you want to forward.
3. Touch and hold the desired message and tap Forward.
4. Tap the recipient field and enter the phone number of the desired contact, or select the desired contact from the drop down menu.
6. When you’re finished, tap Send.

Opting In or Out of the Wireless Emergency Alerts

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Messaging.
2. Then touch the Menu key.
3. Select Settings.
4. Go to the EMERGENCY ALERTS SETTINGS and tap to check the desired opt-in alerts. Choose from Extreme alert, Severe alert, Test alert or AMBER alert.
5. Congratulations! The Wireless Emergency Alerts have been set up.
