Clearing Apps

Clearing App Cache and Data:

Clearing the cache or data from an application can help fixing various software problems. Keep in mind that if you clear data, any stored information in the app will be lost, including login information, saved games, and settings. If you do not wish to lose this data, try clearing the cache first and see if this fixes the problem.

  1. From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Select "System Settings"
  3. Tap "General" and then tap "Apps" under "Device"
  4. If necessary, slide left to reach the "All" screen
  5. Tap the desired app
  6. Press "Clear cache"
  7. If necessary, tap "Clear data"
  8. If prompted to do so, press "OK" to confirm

Uninstalling an Application:

  1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Select "System settings"
  3. Tap "General", scroll down to "Device" and then tap "Apps"
  4. If necessary, slide left to go to the "All" screen
  5. Select the app that you wish to uninstall
  6. Tap "Uninstall" and press "OK" to confirm


Hiding or Showing Applications

You may not be able to uninstall certain pre-loaded applications, but you can still hide or disable them. Hidden / disabled applications will not appear in the apps drawer, and they will not perform updates.

  1. From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
  2. Select "System Settings"
  3. Tap "General", and under "Device", tap "Apps"
  4. If necessary, slide left to view the "All" screen
  5. Select the desired application
  6. Tap "Disable" and confirm by pressing "OK"

Showing Applications:

  1. From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Select "System settings" and tap "General"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
  4. Go to the "All" screen and select the application that you wish to make visible
  5. Tap "Enable"
