Clearing an Application's Cache and Data:

Clearing the cache or data from an application can solve various software issues that you may experience. WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all the data stored within that app, such as settings, saved games and / or login information. If you wish to prevent this from happening, try clearing the cache only.

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "All apps" icon
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Go to the "More" tab
  4. Tap "Application manager"
  5. If necessary, swipe right or left to switch between the desired tab, such as "Downloaded", "Running" or "All"
  6. Select the desired application
  7. Tap "Clear cache"
  8. To clear the app data, tap "Clear data" and confirm by pressing "OK"

Uninstalling an Application:

  1. Tap the "All apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and access the "More" tab
  3. Press "Application manager"
  4. Go to the "Downloaded" screen and select the app that you wish to remove
  5. Tap "Uninstall" and confirm by pressing "OK"

Hiding an Application:

While 3rd party (downloaded) applications can be uninstalled, some pre-loaded apps cannot be removed. However, you can hide these apps. A hidden application will be disabled, it will not appear in the app drawer and it will not perform updates.

  1. Tap the "All apps" icon
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Access the "More" tab
  4. Tap "Application manager"
  5. If necessary, swipe right or left to switch between the "Downloaded", "Running" or "All" menus
  6. Select the desired application. Optionally, you can sort apps by pressing the "Menu" key and selecting "Sort by name" or "Sort by size"
  7. Tap "Disable" and confirm with "OK"

Showing Applications:

To make a hidden app visible again:

  1. Tap "All apps" > "Settings"
  2. Access the "More" tab and tap "Application manager"
  3. Go to the preferred screen, between "Downloaded", "Running" or "All"
  4. Select the app that you wish to make visible again. NOTE: when sorting alphabetically, hidden applications might be listed at the bottom
  5. Tap "Enable"
  6. Press "OK" to confirm

Closing Background Apps:

You can close applications that run in the background by simply doing the following:

  1. From the home screen, tap the "Recent Apps" key (bottom right corner)
  2. From the list or recent apps, swipe the app to the left or right in order to close it
