Many gadget enthusiasts (including myself) consider the LG G Flex to be one of the most interesting smartphones of the year, thanks to its self-healing coating and its ability to actually "flex", without suffering any damage. If you're among the G Flex enthusiasts that have purchased the device and you're wondering how you can transfer your iPhone contacts, then here you will find 4 methods of getting the job done. Pick whatever method feels best for you.

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

  1. On your computer, launch iTunes. If necessary, visit the official Apple website and download > install the iTunes client
  2. Connect your iPhone to your computer using the proprietary USB cable
  3. Once your iPhone is connected, it should appear in iTunes. Click on it to open the summary page
  4. Go to the "Info" tab
  5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box, and from the drop-down menu, click on "Google Contacts"
  6. Enter your Google account log in credentials if you haven't done so before. Alternatively, you can click "Configure" and select a Google account that you have added previously
  7. Click "Apply" and wait for iTunes to sync the iPhone contacts to your Google account
  8. On your LG G Flex, register the same Google account that has been used in iTunes. To add an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  9. Allow your Google account to sync the contacts to your G Flex

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

Assuming that you've used iCloud on your iPhone before, your contacts have most likely been backed up to your iCloud account before. If so, then you can use iCloud to transfer these contacts to your LG G Flex. To do so:

  1. On your computer, use the Internet browser and visit www.icloud.com
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account, and clock on "Contacts"
  3. In the list of contacts, select the ones that you wish to export to your Flex
  4. Click the icon located at the lower-left side, depicting a cog wheel. Then, select "Export vCard"
  5. Once your computer downloads the VCF file containing the exported contacts, import this VCF file to "Google Contacts"
  6. Alternatively, you can connect your LG G Flex to your computer using the USB cable, and copy the VCF file to your phone's "/sdcard" directory. Then, open the "Contacts" application, press the "Menu" key and use the "Import / Export" function to import the contacts from the VCF file

Using the "Bump" Application to Transfer Contacts:

If you don't wish to use your computer in order to transfer contacts, you can use an app such "Bump". NOTE: Bump uses cloud technology to transfer contacts from one device to another, so you will need an active Internet connection on both smartphones in order to complete the process.

  1. Using your iPhone, visit the App Store and download the "Bump" application
  2. On your LG G Flex, visit the "Play Store" and download > install the same app
  3. Launch "Bump" on both smartphones and allow permissions when requested to do so
  4. On the iPhone, go to the contacts section and select the contacts that you want to share
  5. After the "Bump now!" label appears in the top-right corner, you can gently bump the two smartphones against each other
  6. Tap the "Connect" button and allow the two smartphones to connect
  7. A copy of the contacts should now be transferred to the G Flex

Using the "My Contacts Backup" Application to Transfer Contacts:

Using My Contacts Backup, you can transfer your iPhone contacts without using a computer, and without the need of downloading any apps on the LG G Flex.

  1. On your iPhone, visit the App Store and install the "My Contacts Backup" application
  2. Launch the app and tap "Backup". This will create a backup of your current iPhone contacts
  3. Once the backup is done, tap "Email" to attach the backup (VCF file) to an email
  4. Use your own Gmail address as the recipient for the email that contains the VCF file, and send it
  5. On your LG G Flex, open the email containing the attachment, and download it to import the contacts to your device
