Backing Up Data
Backing Up Applications:
- While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Select "LG Backup"
- Tap "Backup"
- Mark the check boxes associated with "LG Apps" and "Downloaded apps"
- Clear the check boxes associated with non-application items
- Tap "Next"
- Select a backup location, such as "Internal storage" or "Use the lock when creating backup file"
- Tap "Start" > "Done"
Backing Up Contacts, Messages and Calendars:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Tap "LG Backup" > "Backup"
- Mark the check box associated with "Personal data", in order to back up your contacts, calendars and messages
- Clear the check boxes associated with any other items
- Tap "Next" and select to back up on the "Internal storage" or to "Use the lock when creating backup file"
- Tap "Start" > "Done"
Backing Up Media Files Using LG Backup:
- From the apps drawer, launch "LG Backup"
- Tap "Backup"
- Mark the "Media data" check box to back up your documents, photos, videos and music files
- Clear the check boxes next to other items
- Tap "Next" and select to back up on the "Internal storage" or to "Use the lock when creating backup file"
- Tap "Start" and then tap "Done"
Backing Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the LG G2 Mini to your computer using the USB cable
- Tap "Media sync (MTP)" when prompted
- On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" in the AutoPlay window
- Navigate to where the media files are stored on your phone
- Copy the desired files, and paste them in the desired backup location on your computer's hard drive
- Once the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- It's now safe to disconnect your smartphone
Restoring Data
Restoring Applications:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Tap "LG Backup" > "Restore"
- Select the desired backup file and tap "Next"
- Review the warning information and tap "Start". Your smartphone will now reboot
Restoring Contacts, Calendars and Messages:
- Launch the "LG Backup" application
- Tap "Restore" and select the desired backup file
- Tap "Next"
- From the warning information window, tap "Start" and wait for your smartphone to reboot
Restoring Media Files:
- Open the apps drawer
- Tap "LG Backup" > "Restore"
- Select a backup file from the list and tap "Next"
- Tap "Start" and wait for your smartphone to restart
Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a connection between your LG G2 Mini and computer using the USB cable
- Tap "Media sync (MTP)" when prompted
- From the "AutoPlay" window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Launch a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the media files are backed up on your computer
- Copy the desired files, and paste them on your phone's storage
- After the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- You can now safely disconnect your smartphone from the PC
