Backing Up Data

Backing Up Applications:

  1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Select "LG Backup"
  3. Tap "Backup"
  4. Mark the check boxes associated with "LG Apps" and "Downloaded apps"
  5. Clear the check boxes associated with non-application items
  6. Tap "Next"
  7. Select a backup location, such as "Internal storage" or "Use the lock when creating backup file"
  8. Tap "Start" > "Done"

Backing Up Contacts, Messages and Calendars:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
  2. Tap "LG Backup" > "Backup"
  3. Mark the check box associated with "Personal data", in order to back up your contacts, calendars and messages
  4. Clear the check boxes associated with any other items
  5. Tap "Next" and select to back up on the "Internal storage" or to "Use the lock when creating backup file"
  6. Tap "Start" > "Done"

Backing Up Media Files Using LG Backup:

  1. From the apps drawer, launch "LG Backup"
  2. Tap "Backup"
  3. Mark the "Media data" check box to back up your documents, photos, videos and music files
  4. Clear the check boxes next to other items
  5. Tap "Next" and select to back up on the "Internal storage" or to "Use the lock when creating backup file"
  6. Tap "Start" and then tap "Done"

Backing Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the LG G2 Mini to your computer using the USB cable
  2. Tap "Media sync (MTP)" when prompted
  3. On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" in the AutoPlay window
  4. Navigate to where the media files are stored on your phone
  5. Copy the desired files, and paste them in the desired backup location on your computer's hard drive
  6. Once the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
  7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
  8. It's now safe to disconnect your smartphone

Restoring Data

Restoring Applications:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
  2. Tap "LG Backup" > "Restore"
  3. Select the desired backup file and tap "Next"
  4. Review the warning information and tap "Start". Your smartphone will now reboot

Restoring Contacts, Calendars and Messages:

  1. Launch the "LG Backup" application
  2. Tap "Restore" and select the desired backup file
  3. Tap "Next"
  4. From the warning information window, tap "Start" and wait for your smartphone to reboot

Restoring Media Files:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Tap "LG Backup" > "Restore"
  3. Select a backup file from the list and tap "Next"
  4. Tap "Start" and wait for your smartphone to restart

Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between your LG G2 Mini and computer using the USB cable
  2. Tap "Media sync (MTP)" when prompted
  3. From the "AutoPlay" window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Launch a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the media files are backed up on your computer
  5. Copy the desired files, and paste them on your phone's storage
  6. After the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray
  7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
  8. You can now safely disconnect your smartphone from the PC
