Transferring Contacts via Google Account:

Using your Google account you can easily transfer contacts from the SGSIII to the LG G3 S. First you'll need to sync the contacts stored on the Samsung device with your account, after which the contacts can be re-synced from the account with the LG G3 S, as explained below:

  1. Sign in with your Google account on the SGSIII
  2. From the home screen, press "Menu" and tap "Settings"
  3. Access "My Accounts" and tap "Google"
  4. Tap your "email address" or "user name"
  5. Tap "Sync Now". Alternatively, clear and mark the "Sync Contacts" check box, to sync contacts only
  6. On the LG G3 S, register the same Google account as the one used on the SIII
  7. From the LG's home screen, tap "Apps"
  8. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "Personal"
  9. Tap "Accounts & sync" and select your account if necessary
  10. Set the account so it can sync contacts with your G3 S and you're all done

Transferring Contacts via "Import / Export":

Using the "Import / Export" in the "Contacts" application, you can export the contacts stored on the SGSIII as a vCard file, which can then be transferred over to the LG G3 S via email or through a PC. Once transferred, the file can be imported on the G3 S through the "Contacts" app, as explained below:

  1. Tap "Contacts" on the Galaxy SIII's home screen
  2. Access the "Contacts" tab
  3. Press "Menu" and tap "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
  4. Tap "Menu" again and select "Import / Export"
  5. Choose to "Export to SD card" and make sure you remember the file's name
  6. Tap "OK" and launch the email application
  7. Compose a new email and attach the vCard file to it
  8. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  9. Switch to the LG G3 and launch the email application
  10. Open the email containing the attachment, and download the vCard to your phone
  11. Next up, launch the "Contacts" app and press "Menu"
  12. Tap "Import / Export", and import the VCF file from storage

NOTE: After you have created the vCard file on the Samsung Galaxy SIII, you can transfer it to the LG G3 S by connecting both smartphones to a computer via USB, and manually transferring the VCF file from the SIII's memory to the LG G3 S "sdcard" directory. Then, launch the "Contacts" app on the LG smartphone, and follow the steps above to import its contents

Transferring Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

Last but not least, you can use "Send Anywhere" to transfer your contacts from one device to the other. Send Anywhere is a third party app that allows you to transfer various types of files and contacts via a peer-2-peer connection. As such, this method doesn't require you to have access to a computer

  1. Visit the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on both of your Android smartphones
  2. Once installed, open the app on both devices
  3. On the SGSIII, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  4. Choose the contacts you wish to share and tap "Send"
  5. Finally, select the desired method of sharing. By tapping "Receive" on the LG G3 S, you can commence the transfer after entering the randomly generated code from the SGSIII. As an alternative, you can tap "Generate QR Code" on the SIII, and scan the code with the G3 S camera to begin the transfer
