Checking the Amount of SD Card Space:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Menu"
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Swipe to "General" and tap "Storage"
  4. Scroll to "SD Card" and view the "Available" storage

Formatting the SD Card:

WARNING! Formatting the SD card will result in the deletion of all data stored on it. Before proceeding, create backups if necessary. To format the SD card:

  1. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Swipe to "General" and then tap "Storage"
  4. Tap "Erase SD card" twice
  5. Tap "Erase Everything" to confirm

Removing the SD Card:

  1. To remove the SD card, first go to the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Tap "Storage" under "General"
  3. Tap "Unmount SD card" and press "OK" to confirm
  4. Power off your smartphone and remove the SD card

Opening or Deleting Files on the SD Card

Using a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the LG Optimus L70 to your computer via USB
  2. On the smartphone, tap "Media sync (MTP)" when prompted
  3. From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Open the "SD card" directory
  5. Navigate to the desired files and open and / or delete them as you see fit
  6. When done, safely disconnect your smartphone by first ejecting it from the system tray

Using Your Smartphone:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Launch "File Manager"
  3. Access the "Local" tab and tap "external_SD"
  4. Locate the files you wish to open or delete
  5. Tap a file to open it
  6. To delete a file, tap "Delete" and select "Yes"

Transferring SD Card Files

Transferring Files Between SD Card and Computer:

  1. Connect your LG Optimus L70 to your computer
  2. Tap "Media sync (MTP)" on your smartphone
  3. On the computer, from the AutoPlay window, click to "Open device to view files"
  4. Open the "SD card" directory
  5. Open a second Windows Explorer window
  6. In the second window, navigate to the files you wish to transfer to the SD card, or navigate to where you wish to transfer files from the SD card to the computer's HDD
  7. Perform the transfer
  8. Once done, safely disconnect your smartphone

Transferring Files between the Internal Memory and SD Card:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Launch "File manager"
  3. Tap "All files" and go to "Internal storage"
  4. Locate the files you wish to transfer and mark their check boxes
  5. Press "Menu" and select to "Copy" or "Move" the files
  6. Tap "SD memory card" and go to the destination folder
  7. Tap "Paste here" or "Move here"

Transferring Files from the SD Card to the Internal Memory:

  1. Launch the "File Manager" app
  2. Tap "All files" > "SD card"
  3. Locate the desired files and / or folders
  4. Select the items you wish to transfer and press "Menu"
  5. Tap "Copy" or "Move"
  6. Select "Device storage" and go to the location where the files need to be transferred
  7. Tap "Paste here" or "Move here"

Change the Default Storage Location for Apps

NOTE: By default, most pre-loaded applications will store data either on the SD card or the internal storage. You can change this setting for certain apps, as explained below

Change the Camera App's Storage Settings:

  1. Launch the "Camera" application
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to "Storage"
  3. Select to store data on the "SD card" or "Internal storage"

Change the Browser's Storage Settings:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch "Browser"
  3. Tap the "Menu" key and go to "Settings"
  4. Tap "Advanced" > "Storage"
  5. Select to store browser data on the "Internal storage" or "SD card"
