Enable and Manage Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
  2. Go to "System Settings"
  3. Access the "General" tab
  4. Tap "Battery" > "Battery saver"
  5. Turn the "Battery saver" switch "ON"
  6. Tap "Turn battery saver on" to adjust how the mode works
  7. You can select the battery level to start Battery Saving mode automatically
  8. You can also clear / check the boxes associated with the features you wish to enable or disable during Battery Saving
  9. For extra settings tap the "Settings" icon next to "Screen Timeout" and "Brightness"

Adjust the Screen Brightness & Timeout Duration:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Go to "System settings" and access the "Display" tab
  3. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side to decrease luminosity
  4. Tap "Screen timeout" in the "Display" tab and choose a lower value like "15 seconds"

Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, HotSpot and Bluetooth:

NOTE: You can prolong your phone's battery life by disabling its connectivity features whenever they are not in use. This includes Wi-Fi, HotSpot, GPS and Bluetooth.

  1. Press "Menu" from the home screen and tap "System Settings"
  2. Go to "Tethering & Networks" and clear the "Mobile Hotspot" check box
  3. Press "Back"
  4. From "Settings", tap "Location settings" under "Personal"
  5. Clear the "GPS satellites" check box
  6. Return to the home screen and drag the "Status" bar down
  7. Tap the "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" tiles to disable these features

Disable Background Data:

  1. Press "Menu" while on a home screen
  2. Access "System Settings" > "Mobile data"
  3. Press "Menu" and mark the check box next to "Restrict background data"

Change App Sync Settings:

  1. From the home screen, press "Menu"
  2. Access "System settings" and swipe to "Personal"
  3. Tap "Accounts & sync" and clear the "Auto-sync data" check box
  4. To change more settings for specific applications, tap each app individually

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can have an effect on your phone's battery performance, assuming they run processes in the background. As such, you may want to minimize the usage of unused (or rarely used) third party apps by disabling or uninstalling them.

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Go to "System Settings"
  3. Under "Device" tap "Apps"
  4. Select the desired third party app
  5. Tap "Disable" to turn off the app
  6. To complete remove it, tap "Uninstall"

Switch to 2G Connectivity:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Tap "Tethering & Networks"
  3. Under "Network settings", tap "Mobile networks"
  4. To restrict 4G connectivity, mark the "Use only 2G networks" check box

Update the OS:

NOTE: New software updates sometime include improvements to power management and battery life, thus it is recommended that you keep your phone up to date. To check for updates:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Tap "System Settings"
  3. Tap "About phone" > System update" > "Check now"
  4. If a software update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply it on your phone
