Clear an App’s Cache or Data:

NOTE: If one of your third party apps isn’t working as intended, it crashes, freezes etc. then you might be able to fix this behavior by clearing the application’s cache. If that fails, you can also try clearing the app’s data.

WARNING! Clearing an app’s data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the app. This includes profiles, saved games, credit card information, high scores and so on.

  1. Tap “Apps” while viewing the home screen
  2. Access “Settings
  3. Under “General” tap ”Apps
  4. Select the desired application
  5. Tap “Clear cache
  6. If clearing the cache hasn’t solved the issue(s), tap “Clear data” > “OK

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone isn’t working as intended, crashes, freezes etc. you can try wiping the cache partition. Unlike a master reset, clearing the cache can solve various issues without deleting personal data stored on the internal memory.

  1. From the home screen tap “Apps
  2. Access “Settings” and go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Storage” and wait for the phone to calculate the data
  4. Tap “Cached data” > “OK” and wait for the phone to clear the cache. NOTE: Depending on how much data is cached, this process can take more or less time to complete
  5. After the cache partition has been wiped, no cached data should be displayed in the menu

Entering Safe Mode to Remove a Third Party App:

NOTE: In case one of your third party apps is causing issues on your phone and it prevents you from uninstalling it, you can easily remove it from Safe Mode. When rebooting your phone in Safe Mode, support for third party apps will be disabled.

  1. Power off the smartphone
  2. Reboot the device and wait for the “LG” logo to appear
  3. When the logo pops-up, press and hold the “Volume Down” button
  4. When the device finishes rebooting to the home screen, release the “Volume Down” button. At this point you should see a “Safe Mode” label in the lower-left corner of the screen
  5. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  6. Go to “Settings
  7. Swipe to “Applications”, tap “Application Manager” and swipe to “Downloaded
  8. Select the desired application and tap “Uninstall
  9. Tap “OK” to confirm
  10. After removing the app, you can exit safe mode by simply pressing and holding the “Power” button, and tapping “Power off and restart
