Check the Amount of SD card Storage:

  1. From the home screen, tap “Apps”
  2. Tap “Settings” and swipe to “Device”
  3. Go to “Storage” and scroll to “SD Card”
  4. The amount of storage will be displayed below

Format the SD Card:

WARNING! Formatting the SD Card will result in the deletion of all personal data on it. If necessary, create backups before proceeding.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings” and swipe to “Device”
  3. Access “Storage” and tap “Erase SD Card” twice
  4. To confirm, tap “Erase everything”

Remove the SD Card:

  1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Storage”
  3. Tap “Unmount SD Card”
  4. You can now turn off your phone and safely remove the SD card from its slot

Open or Delete Files on the SD Card

Manage SD Card Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the LG Magna to your computer via USB
  2. Drag the “Status” bar down and tap “USB Connected”
  3. Tap “Connect USB Storage”
  4. From the AutoPlay window on your computer, click “Open folder to view files” > “OK”
  5. Access the SD card and locate the files you wish to open or remove
  6. When you’re done, tap “Disconnect storage from PC” on the phone

Manage Files Using the Smartphone:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Launch “File Manager”
  3. Tap “All files” and then tap “SD card”
  4. Navigate to the desired folder
  5. Tap to open a file. To delete an item, tap and hold it, then tap “Delete” and press “Yes” to confirm

Transfer Files To / From the SD Card

Transfer Files from the Internal Storage to the SD:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Launch “File Manager”
  3. Tap “All files” and select “Internal storage”
  4. Locate the desired files and mark the check boxes associated with them
  5. Press “Menu” > “Move” (NOTE: To avoid creating duplicate files, tap “Copy” instead)
  6. Tap “SD memory card”
  7. Navigate to the desired target directory and tap “Move here” / “Paste here”

Transfer Files from the SD to the Internal Storage:

  1. Launch “File Manager"
  2. Tap “All files” > “SD Card”
  3. Navigate to the desired directory and select the items you want to transfer
  4. Press “Menu” or “Copy” and tap “Device storage”
  5. Navigate to the desired folder and tap “Move here” / “Paste here”

Using a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the LG Magna to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the “Notification” bar down
  3. Tap “USB Connected” > “Connect USB storage”
  4. In the AutoPlay window on the PC, click to browse the phone’s folders
  5. Access the “Removable Disk” directory and transfer the desired files between the phone storage and computer
  6. When the process is done, tap “Disconnect storage from PC”

Change the Default Memory Storage Location

NOTE: Most default apps pre-loaded on the phone are set to store data on the phone’s internal memory. You can change this setting for most apps, and you can set them to use the SD card instead.

Change the “Camera” app’s Storage Settings:

  1. Launch “Camera”
  2. From the viewfinder, press “Menu”
  3. Tap “Settings” > “Memory”
  4. Tap the storage icon and select “SD”

Change the Storage Settings for the Internet Browser:

  1. Launch the “Browser” app
  2. Press “Menu” and access “Settings”
  3. Tap “Advanced” > “Select download storage”
  4. Tap “SD card”
