Using a Google Account:
NOTE: Using a Google account you can sync the contacts on your SGSIII, which means you can then re-sync the contacts from the account with the LG G Stylo. To use this method:
- Sign in with your Google account on the Galaxy SIII
- Press “Menu” on the home screen and go to “Settings”
- Tap “My Accounts” > “Google”
- Tap your “user name” or “email address” and enable “Sync Contacts”
- Tap “Sync Now”
- Switch to the LG G Stylo and register the same Google account
- Allow the account to sync contacts with the LG device
Using the “Contacts” app:
NOTE: Using the default Contacts app you can export the contacts on the SGSIII as a vCard file. Then you can transfer the file to the LG G Stylo, and import its contents via “Contacts”
- Open the “Contacts” app on the SGSIII
- Access the “Contacts” tab and press “Menu”
- Tap “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
- Press “Menu” > “Import / Export”
- Tap “Export to SD Card” and ensure you recall the file’s name before tapping “OK”
- Send the vCard file to your own Gmail address
- Switch to the LG G Stylo and open the email containing the attached vCard file
- Download the file and open “Contacts”
- Press “Menu” > “Manage contacts” > “Import”
- In the “From” field select the location of the VCF file
- In the “To” field select either “Phone” or “Google”
- Choose the contacts to import or tap “Select all”
- Tap “Import” > “Yes”
NOTE: After you have created the vCard file on the SGSIII, you can transfer it to the LG G Stylo by connecting both smartphones to a computer via USB and manually copy-pasting it
Using “Send Anywhere”:
NOTE: If you’re looking for a third party app that can transfer files and contacts from one phone to another via a P2P connection, Send Anywhere might be what you need.
- Visit the Play Store and install “Send Anywhere” on both Android smartphones
- Open the app on both devices
- On the sender device, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
- Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send”
- Finally, tap “Generate QR Code” on the sender device and scan the code with the LG G Stylo camera to begin the contact transfer. Alternatively you can tap “Receive” on the LG, and manually enter the transfer code generated by the SGSIII
