Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab and scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery & power saving and tap the Battery saver to turn the switch ON
- You can clear or check the boxes associated with the available options for the battery saving mode, including the battery percentage at which the mode will enable automatically
Disable Smart Settings:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap the General tab
- Swipe to Smart functions and tap Smart settings
- Set all sliders to OFF
Adjust Gaming Video Quality:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings > General
- Swipe to Phone management
- Tap Battery & power saving
- Tap the Game optimizer slider and set it to OFF
Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Tap the Display tab
- Tap Brightness under Basic settings
- Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease the screen brightness
- Tap screen timeout and select a lower value, such as 15 seconds
Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:
NOTE: To maximize your phones battery performance you can try disabling all connectivity features whenever they are not in use. This includes Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap the Networks tab
- Tap Tethering under Connectivity
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and set the switch to OFF
- Press Back until you return to the Settings menu
- Tap the switches associated with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to disable them
- Tap the General tab
- Under Personal, tap Location
- Tap Mode and choose Battery saving (networks only)
Disable Background Data:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- From the Networks tab, tap Mobile data
- Press Menu and tick the Restrict background data check box
- Tap OK
Change the Sync Settings for Apps:
NOTE: By setting your apps / accounts to sync less data or less often you can prolong the phones battery life on the long run
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab
- Swipe to Personal and tap Accounts & sync
- Clear the check box associate with Auto-sync data
- Under Accounts select an application to update its sync options
Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:
NOTE: Some of your third party apps can still affect your phones battery performance even when you dont use them. This is due to the fact that some apps run processes in the background. To maximize battery life you can either disable rarely used or unused third party apps, or remove them completely.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab
- Under Phone management tap Apps
- Access the Downloaded tab
- Tap and hold the desired application
- Tap Force stop to disable the app, or tap Uninstall to remove it
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Open the phones Settings screen
- Tap Networks
- Under Connectivity tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Select Use only 2G networks
Keep Your Phone Up to Date:
NOTE: Software updates sometime include improvements to battery life so its recommended that you keep your phone up to date. To check if new updates are available:
- Tap Apps > Settings
- Tap the General tab
- Swipe to Phone Management and tap About phone
- Tap Update Center > System updates
- Tap Check for update and follow any additional prompts that may follow (assuming an update is available)
