Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab and scroll to “Phone Management”
  4. Tap “Battery & power saving” and tap the “Battery saver” to turn the switch “ON”
  5. You can clear or check the boxes associated with the available options for the battery saving mode, including the battery percentage at which the mode will enable automatically

Disable Smart Settings:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap the “General” tab
  4. Swipe to “Smart functions” and tap “Smart settings”
  5. Set all sliders to “OFF”

Adjust Gaming Video Quality:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings” > “General”
  3. Swipe to “Phone management”
  4. Tap “Battery & power saving”
  5. Tap the “Game optimizer” slider and set it to “OFF”

Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap the “Display” tab
  4. Tap “Brightness” under “Basic settings”
  5. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease the screen brightness
  6. Tap “screen timeout” and select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: To maximize your phone’s battery performance you can try disabling all connectivity features whenever they are not in use. This includes Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap the “Networks” tab
  4. Tap “Tethering” under “Connectivity”
  5. Tap “Mobile Hotspot” and set the switch to “OFF”
  6. Press “Back” until you return to the “Settings“ menu
  7. Tap the switches associated with “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” to disable them
  8. Tap the “General” tab
  9. Under “Personal”, tap “Location”
  10. Tap “Mode” and choose “Battery saving (networks only)”

Disable Background Data:

  1. Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. From the “Networks” tab, tap “Mobile data”
  3. Press “Menu” and tick the “Restrict background data” check box
  4. Tap “OK”

Change the Sync Settings for Apps:

NOTE: By setting your apps / accounts to sync less data or less often you can prolong the phone’s battery life on the long run

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Accounts & sync”
  5. Clear the check box associate with “Auto-sync data”
  6. Under “Accounts” select an application to update its sync options

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some of your third party apps can still affect your phone’s battery performance even when you don’t use them. This is due to the fact that some apps run processes in the background. To maximize battery life you can either disable rarely used or unused third party apps, or remove them completely.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Under “Phone management” tap “Apps”
  5. Access the “Downloaded” tab
  6. Tap and hold the desired application
  7. Tap “Force stop” to disable the app, or tap “Uninstall” to remove it

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” screen
  2. Tap “Networks”
  3. Under “Connectivity” tap “More”
  4. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  5. Select “Use only 2G networks”

Keep Your Phone Up to Date:

NOTE: Software updates sometime include improvements to battery life so it’s recommended that you keep your phone up to date. To check if new updates are available:

  1. Tap “Apps” > “Settings”
  2. Tap the “General” tab
  3. Swipe to “Phone Management” and tap “About phone”
  4. Tap “Update Center” > “System updates”
  5. Tap “Check for update” and follow any additional prompts that may follow (assuming an update is available)
