Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Tap “Battery & power saving” under “Phone Management”
  5. Tap the “Battery saver” switch to “ON”
  6. You can select the battery percentage at which battery saving mode enables automatically

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Access “Display”
  4. Tap “Brightness” under “Basic settings”
  5. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
  6. From the “Display” menu, tap “Screen timeout”
  7. Select a lower timeout value, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Access the “Networks” tab
  4. Tap “Tethering” under “Connectivity”
  5. Tap “Mobile Hotspot” and set the feature “OFF”
  6. Return to “Settings”
  7. Tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to disable these features
  8. Access the “General” tab and under “Personal”, tap “Location” (GPS)
  9. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving (Networks only)”

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Tap the “Networks” tab
  4. Tap “More” under “Connectivity”
  5. Tap “Mobile networks”
  6. Enable “Use only 2G networks”

Disable Background Data:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. From the “Networks” tab, tap “mobile data”
  3. Tap “Menu” and enable “Restrict background data”
  4. Tap “OK”

Change Sync Settings:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts & sync”
  4. Clear the “Auto-sync data” option
  5. Select an app under “Accounts” to change sync settings

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phone’s battery life even when not in use – assuming that the apps run regular processes in the background. As such you might be able to improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

  1. Open the “Apps” drawer
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Scroll to “Phone Management” and tap “Apps”
  5. Swipe to “Downloaded”
  6. Tap and hold the desired app
  7. Tap “Force stop” or “Uninstall” > “OK”

Update the OS:

NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, so it’s highly recommended to keep your phone’s firmware up to date. To check for updates:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Scroll to “Phone management” and tap “About phone”
  5. Tap “Update Center” > “System updates”
  6. Tap “Check for update”
  7. If a new OS version is available, follow the on-screen prompts to install it
