Back Up Applications:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
  4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Backup & reset”
  5. Enable “Back up my data”

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. If necessary, tap “Menu” > “List view”
  4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Backup & reset”
  5. Tap “LG Backup” and select “Backup & restore”
  6. Tap “Back up data” and make sure “LG Cloud” is selected
  7. If / when prompted, sign in to your LG account
  8. Select “Personal data” and deselect the other options
  9. Expand the “Personal data” directory and make sure “Contacts” is selected
  10. Tap “Start” to begin the backup
  11. At the “Back up completed” pop-up, tap “Done”

Back Up Data on the SD Card:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  2. If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Device”
  4. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore”
  5. Tap “Back up data” and make sure “SD Card” is selected
  6. Choose the items you want to back up
  7. Tap “Start” and wait for the process to end
  8. Once the backup is completed, tap “Done”

Back Up Media Files on Your Phone:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Device”
  4. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore”
  5. Select “Media data” and deselect all the other options
  6. Expand the “Media data” directory and select the items you want to back up
  7. Tap “Start” and at the “Back up completed” prompt, tap “Done”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the LG G4c and computer
  2. At the prompt, enable “Media sync (MTP)” (otherwise enable the feature from the notification area)
  3. On the computer, launch an Explorer window and locate the media files (or the “.sbf” backup file) on your phone
  4. Copy the file(s) and transfer them on your computer
  5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB
