Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
- Turn on “Back up my data” to back up settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and account data on your Google account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to set your account to restore data automatically upon reinstalling applications
NOTE: App data that has been backed up using the method above will be automatically restored when you sigh in with your Google backup account for the first time / after a factory reset.
Back Up Contacts:
- Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Tap “Accounts”
- Select the account you want to use for syncing contacts
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above will be restored automatically upon signing in with your Google account for the first time on the phone / after a factory reset.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the LG Ray and computer
- On the home screen, swipe the “Notification” bar down and turn on “Media sync (MTP)”
- Launch the File Explorer on the PC and locate the media files on your phone storage
- Copy the desired media files and transfer them in the desired backup location on your computer
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray in order to safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the LG Ray to your PC via USB
- Swipe the “Notification” bar down and make sure “Media sync (MTP)” is enabled
- Open the File Explorer on the PC and locate the media file backups
- Copy the desired files and transfer them on your phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder they originate from
- Once the transfer is finished, click the “Mass Storage Device” icon in the system tray and eject the phone storage
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cable
