Back Up App Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Access “Settings”
- If necessary, go to the “General” tab
- Under “Phone management”, tap “Backup & reset”
- Tap to enable “Back up my data”
Back Up Data on the SD Card:
- Access the “Settings” menu
- Scroll to “Phone Management” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Under “LG Backup”, tap “Back up safely”
- Tap “Back up to” and select “SD card”
- Select the items you want to back up
- Tap “Start” and wait for the “Backup completed” pop-up
- Tap “Done”
Back Up Contacts On LG Cloud:
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Backup & reset” under “Phone Management”
- Scroll to “LG Backup” and tap “Back up safely”
- Tap “Back up to”
- Select “LG Cloud” and, when prompted, sign in with your LG account
- Tap “Personal data” and deselect the other options
- Expand the “Personal data” directory and make sure “Contacts” is enabled
- Tap “Start” and wait for the “Back up completed” prompt
- Tap “Done”
Back Up Media Files Using the Phone:
- Access the “Settings” menu
- Scroll to “Phone Management”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Under “LG Backup”, tap “Back up safely”
- Select “Mobile data” and deselect the other non-media options
- Expand the “Media data” option and select the media files you want to back up
- Tap “Start”
- When prompted with “Back up completed”, tap “Done”
NOTE: After you have backed up your media files using the method above, you can connect the LG K5 to a computer via USB and transfer the “.sbf” backup file to the PC for safekeeping.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the LG K5 and your computer
- On the phone’s home screen, slide the “Notification” bar down
- Make sure “Media sync (MTP)” is enabled
- On the computer, open the File Explorer
- Navigate to the phone storage and copy the desired media files
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
