Enable Device Lock:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- If necessary, tap “Menu” > “List view”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Lock screen”
- Tap “Select screen lock” and choose a screen lock option
- Follow the on-screen prompts to set a lock screen option
Change Lock Screen Settings:
- Open “Settings”
- If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
- Under “Device”, tap “Lock screen”
- Tap “Select screen lock” and select a screen lock option such as PIN / password etc.
- Tap “Continue” and confirm your password / PIN
- Tap “Continue” > “OK”
Disable Device Lock:
- Open “Settings”
- Under “Device”, tap “Lock screen”
- Select “None”
- Enter your current PIN / password / pattern to confirm and proceed
Enable / Disable Emergency Alerts:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Messaging”
- Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
- Access “General Settings”
- Under “Other”, tap “Emergency alerts”
- Clear or tick the check boxes next to “AMBER alerts”, “Imminent extreme alerts” and “Imminent severe alerts”
NOTE: Presidential alerts are enabled by default and cannot be disabled.
