How-to: LG X Style: Change Device Lock and Emergency Alert Settings

Enable Device Lock:

1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
2. Launch “Settings”
3. Scroll to and tap “Display”
4. Tap “Lock screen”
5. Tap “Select lock screen” and choose the lock screen option you want to use
6. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the option

Change Device Lock PIN:

1. Open “Settings”
2. Tap “Display” > “Lock Screen”
3. Tap “Select screen lock” > “PIN”
4. Enter the new PIN and tap “Continue”
5. Enter the PIN a second time for confirmation and tap “OK”

Change Device Lock Password:

1. Launch “Settings”
2. Tap “Display” > “Lock screen”
3. Tap “Select lock screen”
4. Select “Password”
5. Enter the new password and tap “Continue”
6. Enter the password again to confirm and tap “OK”

Disable The Lock Screen:

1. Launch “Settings”
2. Tap “Display”
3. Tap “Lock screen”
4. Tap “Select screen lock” and choose “None”
5. Enter your current PIN / password to proceed, if necessary

Enable / Disable Emergency Alerts:

1. Open “Messaging”
2. Tap “Menu”
3. Tap “Settings” > “Advanced settings”
4. Tap “More” > “Emergency alerts”
5. Enable or disable “Imminent extreme alerts”, “Imminent severe alerts” and / or “AMBER alerts”

NOTE: Presidential alerts are turned on by default and cannot be disabled.
