Back Up App Data:

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Tap “Backup & reset” and enable “Back up my data

Back Up Contacts on an SD Card:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. If necessary, switch to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset
  4. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore
  5. Tap “Back up data
  6. Enable “SD Card” and select the contacts you want to back up
  7. Tap “Start
  8. When prompted with “Backup completed”, tap “Done

Back Up Contacts on an LG Account:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “General
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” > “LG Backup
  4. Tap “Backup & restore
  5. When prompted, tap “Back up data
  6. Select “LG Cloud” and sign in with your LG Account
  7. Turn on “Personal data” and deselect the other options
  8. Expand the “Personal data” directory and ensure “Contacts” is checked
  9. Tap “Start” and wait for the “Backup completed” pop-up
  10. Tap “Done

Back Up Media Files Using Your Phone:

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Access the “General” tab if needed
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” > “LG Backup
  4. Tap “Backup & Restore
  5. Turn on “Media data” and disable the other options
  6. Tap “Start
  7. At the “Backup completed” prompt, tap “Done

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between your LG X5 and computer
  2. When prompted, enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “File device (MTP)”, otherwise turn the option On from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Use the Explorer to locate and copy the media files on your phone
  5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
