Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably etc. you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache / data.

WARNING! By clearing the application’s data, all personal data stored within the app, including saved games, profiles, login and credit card information, settings, high scores etc. will be deleted. To avoid losing personal app data, clear only the application’s cache.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the “Notification” bar down
  2. Launch “Settings” and access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “All”
  4. Tap “Clear cache”
  5. If needed, tap “Clear data” > “Yes” (NOTE: read the Warning above)

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or causes other issues and you’re thinking of factory resetting it, you can try solving these issues by clearing the device’s cache partition.

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings” and go to “General”
  3. Tap “Storage”
  4. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
  5. Tap “Cached data” > “Yes” to clear the cache
  6. Wait for the process to complete. Once done, you should see a much lower amount of “Cached data”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the LG X Mach.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an Application:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third party application that causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party applications are disabled.

  1. Wake the screen if necessary
  2. On the home screen, press and hold “Power”
  3. From the “Power management” pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  4. When prompted to “Restart in Safe Mode”, tap “OK”
  5. After the phone reboots, a “Safe Mode” label should be shown in the lower-left corner of the screen
  6. Open “Settings”
  7. Access the “General” tab
  8. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “Downloaded”
  9. Select the desired application
  10. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  11. Once you have removed the application, exit Safe Mode by restarting your phone as you normally would (Press and hold “Power” and then tap “Power off”)
