Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Battery & Power saving
- Enable the Battery Saving mode
- Enable or disable the available power saving options
- Lastly, you can select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically
Adjust Video Quality in Games:
- Go to Settings
- Access General and scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery & Power saving
- Enable Game optimizer
Disable Smart Settings Unused at Home:
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Smart functions
- Tap Smart settings
- Set the option to OFF
Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- Go to the Display tab
- Tap Brightness under Basic settings
- Swipe the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout
- Select a lower value, such as 15 seconds
Disable Connectivity Features:
NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Hotspot while unused, you can conserve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Access the Networks tab
- Scroll to Connectivity and tap Tethering
- Set the Mobile data toggle to OFF
- Go back to Settings and set the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches to OFF
- Under Personal, tap Location (GPS)
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving (networks only)
Switch to 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: if your phone runs low on battery and you want to conserve battery life until the next recharge, you can do so by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Go to the Networks tab
- Under Connectivity, tap More > Mobile networks
- Tap Network mode and select GSM only
Disable Background Data:
- Open Settings
- Go to the Networks tab
- Tap Mobile data
- Tap Menu and enable Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery life even when they are not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from your phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Apps
- Go to Downloaded
- Tap and hold the desired application
- Tap Disable or Force stop to turn off the app
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps and accounts to reduce sync, you can increase battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Under Personal, tap Accounts & Sync
- Disable Auto-sync data if necessary
- Under Accounts, select an account / app to change its sync settings
