NOTE: For instructions on how to back up data on the LG U, you can visit this thread.

Restore Apps:

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset
  4. Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup
  5. Locate and tap the desired backup file
  6. Tap “Start
  7. After the process is complete, tap “Done”. NOTE: you will be asked to reboot your phone

Restore Contacts:

  1. Go to "Settings"
  2. From the "General" tab, tap "Backup & reset"
  3. Tap "Restore from backup" under "LG Backup"
  4. Select the desired SD card backup file
  5. Tap "Start" to begin the restore. NOTE: You may have to reboot your phone to complete the process

Restore Media Files From the Phone:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. From the “General” tab, tap “Backup & reset
  3. Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup
  4. Select the desired media backup
  5. Tap “Start
  6. Once the process is complete, tap “Restart” and wait for the phone to reboot

Restore Media Files from the Computer:

  1. Connect the LG U to your PC via USB
  2. Enable “Media sync (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to the desired backup files on the PC storage
  5. Copy the desired backup files or the “.sbf” backup file you want to restore
  6. Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) they originate from
  7. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
