Yoy might find the internal man command can answer common syntax problems:

depends if your using a distro of it, lots of help pages around.

Yeah, the man command is very handy, or if your running bash, Type a few letters and press tab, and it will print the possible command you could be typing, i figured out a lot of commands this way!

Not really, still plent of people out there who swear by unix.
