Hey,
I just install Mandrivia 2006 on my other box and having difficulty connecting it to the internet. I want to connect to the internet using network card connecting to my router.
I'm new to linux and would like some of an assistance in getting online.
If you are a guru at linux and could be of a assistance it would be much a appreciated.
Regards,
tuannie

Is it an adsl router? Does the line broadband line go straight into it? If it does you need to set your network card to get and ip by DHCP, not set a static one.
Are you on Gnome or KDE?

The cable modem should have DHCP, could be turned off, do you have any other machines connected to the router that works on the net?

Is the IP of your router in the DNS list, had bother with that at times myself, But if you have it set up to use DHCP it should just work when you plug it in straight off.
