Hello Everyone. I am new here, and like most either looking for information or complaining. I guess you can tell by my username which category I fit in?
I have been a Metro PCS customer now for about 5 months. I want to tell you other than the issues I am going to describe, that they have been an alright, discount carrier.
Well, let me tell you about a couple of situations I run into on a daily basis. First of all I live in a city, and basically the middle of several cities. Being at my exact location, I cannot get a Sprint carrier phone, because they are upfront and tell me they do not provide service in my exact area. I found that surprising. However, even though most of the carriers do not cover my area, they will take the money. Metro PCS is no exception. Did I mention I live in the middle of not only one city, but several?
Now I can get very weak reception here outside the house, and of course inside the house on my wifi, and that the coverage is not great does not bother me that much? Well, some of course, because, did I mention that I live in the middle of not only one city, but several?
Now to go further with my complaining, is that I have what "MetroPCS" calls nationwide service? Well, when I leave my home and stay within strict city boundaries I get good reception. When I cross those boundaries I get a message on my phone that reads - Not registered on Network. (I get this in my home even unless it is on wifi).
Now let me go further. Today, I called MetroPCS and tried to get an explanation. Of course I got someone that the English language was clearly not their first language, and could not understand my complaints. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and of course after remaining on hold for 20 minutes, they simply hung up the phone - not the first time.
Now let me go further. Oh I forgot, did I mention there are 3 Metro PCS stores within 3 miles from my home? Not one, not 2, but 3!!!
My wife and I are relocating about 100 miles from here, and I expected that my phone would work in that area? Well they show the location is a partner site, so it should work? Well, wrong once again. I have a strong signal in the area, however, when someone calls the phone immediately hangs up!!! Even better it is the same on both ends. If I try to return the call, when they answer it hangs up as well.
I know what good customer support is, and apparently no company has it any longer, especially cell phone companies. This includes in the store, online or by phone.
