    I'm wondering with the announcement of Google Maps Navigation if the phone will even need to connect to GPS satellites at all? Anyone have any insight on this?

    After having the droid for over a week now I see that the GPS signal from the phone is used when using Google Maps Navigation

    From what I've read/can tell, you can actually turn off the GPS and it'll still work although it might not be as accurate.
