Luckily Google has made the process of syncing your Droid phone with your outlook calendar an easy task. Here are the steps:

    • Download Google Calendar Sync
    • Install & Run the program
    • Enter your Gmail account information
    • Select 2-way sync & set sync intervals
    • Save
    • The sync will begin
    • When sync is complete - check that your calendar events are now in your Gmail account (top right, click Calendar)
    • On your Droid - go to Settings
    • Accounts & Sync Settings
    • Select your Gmail account
    • Make sure the check box for 'Sync Calendar' is checked
    • To update everything - Menu > Sync now

I just followed (tavenger5) steps shown above and literally in 3 minutes my entire outlook calendar was updated on my Droid. The great thing about using this system is you can update your calendar on either one of your 3 locations: Droid, Gmail, Outlook and they'll all sync up.

Re: Sync Motorola Droid Calendar (Gmail) with Outlook Calendar

I have everything setup the same as mentioned above, but I have an odd error that keeps happening. When I create an event on my Droid, it will sync up with Google Calendar and Outlook just fine; but it creates an invitation event with me as an attendee. The event also shows up as tentative only in Outlook and I am unable to edit it.

Contrast - if i create an event in either Outlook or Gmail it will sync fine with my Droid and all 3 units (droid, outlook and gmail) will have the same calendar event which isnt an invitation. It seems as though when i create an event on my Droid it creates a meeting invitation instead of an event/appointment

Is any one else having this problem?

    Thanks!

I'm not a fan of Gmail Sync. I like to keep my personal and professional calendars separate. Especially since I share the personal one with my family. My wife doesn't care to receive meeting notifications for my work meetings.

Anyway, since my place of business uses Exchange, it was pretty easy to set up my corporate email. I didn't mess with the corporate calendar, but just a few minutes ago I started that application and left it alone. It synced with my Outlook calendar just fine, without going through a bunch of hoosie fudge to merge my Outlook and Google calendars.

Re: Sync Motorola Droid Calendar (Gmail) with Outlook Calendar

I found that by not using the Google Calendar Sync, I am now able to use multiple Google Calendars. I then just use the corporate calendar on the Droid to sync directly with my Exchange account for work. This keeps things separate. Plus - who really wants to be worrying about work when you are off the job anyways.

As a small business owner, I don't use Exchange. I have read through some of the forums and haven't found any good solutions for syncing Outlook and the Droid directly...however, many of the posts were older. Any chance that this issue has been resolved with an app by now???

Re: Sync Motorola Droid Calendar (Gmail) with Outlook Calendar

Followed instructions all worked well and everything appears to have synced to gmail and my phone, however the only problem I see is that all my comtacts in the Droid appear first name first, rather than last name first as shown in my Outlook contact folder. Is there a way to set the phone to show "Last Name" first?

By the way GREAT forum. I was reading all about the Droid on the forum prior to purchasing so by the time I actually received (Tuesday) I knew how to do so much already. Again, Great forum!!

Re: Sync Motorola Droid Calendar (Gmail) with Outlook Calendar

I'm sure this is a wonderful app. Unfortunately, it doesn't support Outlook 2010. Any suggestions for an app that will sync with Outlook 2010? All I need to sync in my calendar.

Larry79, I'm sorry you are having problems. For chart that has al list of most software that syncs between Outlook and a Droid, please visit www.syncdroid.net. You just want to sync calendar, but they list what the software will sync (calendar, contacts, notes, tasks, email), whether it uses USB or wireless, price (many free) and more. They also have an overview of each software title to help you decide on the calendar sync software you want.
