There's a couple things I mentioned in the review that I thought I should reiterate about the Android Facebook App and some weird things that happen with it.
Some things that are lacking:
- Ability to sync with contacts based on more than just name
- Ability to re-sync a single contact
- Ability to easily send a facebook message directly to the contact without entering the facebook app
- Dedicated Facebook notifications - Notifications only come in the form of e-mails
- Ability to sync Facebook events sync with calendar - this also exists in other mobile Facebook applications I've seen
- For several contacts I'm seeing multiple "Facebook Profile - View Profile" links under the contact's profile. I have no idea why since they all lead to the same Facebook contact page.
Anything that you feel is missing?

Re: Droid Facebook App Functionality
These certainly would be nice features, I would really like to have just my normal feed back (screw this "News Feed") LOL

Re: Droid Facebook App Functionality
I think you covered it nicely. Haven't found it lacking with anything else yet.

Re: Droid Facebook App Functionality
Everything I mentioned above exists in the BlackBerry FB app.
The Android 2.0 FB app is a lot better than the 1.5 app though. See my review of the Eris for that early attempt at integration.

Re: Droid Facebook App Functionality
I definitely did like the BlackBerry app much better on my Storm... but not a deal breaker... the browsing on my DROID is amazing!

Re: Droid Facebook App Functionality
Ok, after a week, I've come to the conclusion the FB app just plain sucks. It never seems to update properly, a PITA to do anything with it because it sends you to the Browser in order to do anything. Notifications NEVER work properly. No way to check your Inbox (that I can see). And a host of other problems...
My solution? Go to FB via the browser. You get FULL functionality and it's not much slower than the FB app. Everything is updated correctly, too.
In this age of over 300,000,000 FBers, not sure how they didn't get this one right. The FB app on my wife's iPod Touch works fine.

Re: Droid Facebook App Functionality
Alright, check my last suggestion. After poking around more, found Bloo, a free FB app which is waaaaaaaaayyyyyy better than the standard one. Fast, too.

I am kind of wary of fb apps--is this safe?

Re: Droid Facebook App Functionality
I love facebook, and I just recently left my iPhone and came to the droid. I like the phone and the facebook app. I love how it syncs with contacts. You covered everything I have to complain about, but my sole complaint is the inability to send and view private messages.

Re: Droid Facebook App Functionality
I can't seem to sync any changed contacts with facebook. Is this what you were referring to with syncing with individuals? I synced originally, went in and changed my contacts names to their facebook names, synced again, and nothing changed.
Any ideas?
