I'm sure there are some of you that just purchased a Droid and want to get your contacts off of your BlackBerry (old Storm anyone?) The below is a pain free way to do it:
- This will be a lot easier if you sync your BlackBerry with gmail BEFORE activating your Droid
- Download this Google app to sync your BlackBerry with Gmail: Google Sync on your mobile phone
- Check your Gmail account to make sure everything is loaded into it.
- Activate your Droid
- Hook up your gmail account - make sure sync is set to on
- All done - your contacts are now on your new Droid
The slightly longer way if you have already disconnected service:
- Sync you BlackBerry to your computer using BlackBerry Desktop Manager (instructions here: http://cellphoneforums.net/rim-black...lackberry.html )
- Your contacts will now be in Outlook
- Continue on to this: http://cellphoneforums.net/motorola-...oid-2-0-a.html

If you sync you phone using BlackBerry Desktop Manager your contacts will be in Outlook, so you can follow the directions here: http://cellphoneforums.net/motorola-...oid-2-0-a.html

Re: Transfer your contacts from your BlackBerry to Droid
Thanks for the information. It was highly useful. Its great to have a site like this that has correct information when the carrier who sells the phone sends incorrect information because they really have no clue about the new devices.

Re: Transfer your contacts from your BlackBerry to Droid
You can just turn wifi on a blackberry and sync up with gmail.

Re: Transfer your contacts from your BlackBerry to Droid
My blackberry is broken and I can no longer sync from actual phone to outlook, though I did backup everything on my computer through desktop manager. I am now switching to a droid. Is there a way from me to transfer contacts to outlook through desktop manager only (no phone)?

Try Google sync on the Blackberry. Turn off the Blackberry...
