I just a 2 questions regarding the WiFi:
1. When the WiFi is on and connected, does that override the 3G Mobile Data?
2. I had read that I could set up my Phone to automatically switch over to my home WiFi, when I get home. I can't find out how to do that.
Thanks!

Re: 2 questions on WiFi on the DROID
Good questions. I was wondering about your first question.
Also wondering if there's any software out there which allows me to use my Droid as a hotspot (there is an app like this for the iPhone).

Re: 2 questions on WiFi on the DROID
To number 2 question... under wifi setting check (engage) network notification, but wifi still has to be turned on, which will drain the battery if you always leave it on. Make sure the box is checked next to NETWORK NOTIFICATION so when you turn on wifi it will discover wifi available.
main screen... setting.... about phone... wifi setting

Re: 2 questions on WiFi on the DROID
I occasionally have problems because of this, where the phone is having issues with the wifi, so it can't do anything.

Re: 2 questions on WiFi on the DROID
1. no you must manually shut it off.
2. I'm not sure yet. I just got my droid X recently and just figured out how to make the wifi connect to my home router. Incase people wanted to know, this is what I happened and is my solution:
I was having problems trying to figure out what was wrong for a couple days, but eventually I found a way to make my phone connect to my dlink Xtreme wireless N gigabit router. I went to the advance tab at my router's webpabe (IP address = 192.168.0.1) and clicked on the wifi protected set up. I disabled the wifi protected setup and saved the settings. The router rebooted, all my encryptions are still enabled which means my password and stuff is still set, and now my phone can connect to wifi. I hope this helps other people!!! - Penn
