Ok, Ive had my droid for about 4 days now...and it's already a love/hate relationship. Too many steps for some basic tasks. Learning curve. The phone that can do everything...gets AWFUL voice signal. Ive NEVER had such a problem with ANY verizon phone, so this is unacceptable. Four dropped calls in one day.

Anyone else having this problem, or is it just my device? COuld it be defective, or am I going to have to go back to my beloved enV's?

greetings you need to make sure you have the latest update 2.01 is on this forum and can be updated manually if needed!

also as a regular precaution you will need to reset the phone by taking out the battery once and a while that clears up 99% of problems

verizon is no use because they blame it on the apps you might have installed

a good rule is if you try a new app and it does not work the first time delete it right away

I just turned in my 3rd Droid. Verizon was just sure I got two duds. It's a very cool device, but if you need a good, reliable phone, this is not for you. My first two muted my voice on several calls a day, dropped calls, and froze. The last one wasn't quite so bad, but on all of them the sound was frequently tinny and clipped and the client on the other side was frequently asking me to repeat myself, said I sounded muffled. Motorola tech support said they know they have a problem and they're working on it, but no idea when/if it will be addressed. Now I've got to figure out what to get in its place.

By the way, with that many issues, you probably have one of the lemons. I'd trade it in and try another if you're up for it. And turn the call privacy setting off -- that helps some. I realize I rely on the phone more than most (about 1200+ minutes a month for work), and the phone issues may not be that big a deal for others. For me, I'm convinced there's no Droid that will work for me.
