Re: Motorola Droid- SCREEN PROBLEMS
aepple, it sounds like the phone is getting power, the screen just isn't coming back on after he unlocks it.
You are pressing the unlock button on the top right of the phone, right? Is the screen closed all the way? Does it make a difference if it is open? Did it ever work correctly or stop working after you installed an app?

Re: Motorola Droid- SCREEN PROBLEMS
You may have one of two possible problems... Bad App... or a software problem, either way i would take it to a √erizon store, or (FIRST) call tech support to walk you through trouble shooting steps... like starting the phone in SAFE MODE for diagnosis.
They may have you do a PHONE RESET and/or re-format your SD-CARD.
keep us posted...

Re: Motorola Droid- SCREEN PROBLEMS
hi everyone - i have more or less the same problem as the guy mentioned above.
in my case i'd just put a new sim in the phone which seemed fine for about 30 mins. i tapped the screen lock and put it in my pocket....when i took it out again the screen wouldnt wake and all i had was the function keys lit up. so i thought the phone had froze...
did a batt pull and when the phone switched on it was just the backlight...not even the function keys worked. i thought it was a SW prob so i tried to reflash it...managed to get into the engineering screen/bootloader (even without text on the screen as phone screen is still blank) but the moto firmware flasher recognised the phone.
new flash, new software....still no go. turns on but only backlight. nothing else happens. have tried everything....anyone else having this problem?

Re: Motorola Droid- SCREEN PROBLEMS
So I first got my droid in November 2009, it was stolen last month and about 3 weeks ago I got my replacement. This morning the screen wouldn't come up so I took it to verizon. They are sending me a new one that I am supposed to receive in 3 days, but in the mean time I can't make or receive calls or texts.

Had the same problem, happens occasionally. however this time it seemed to happen for longer. i took out and put back in my sim card, and that seemed to work

Re: Motorola Droid- SCREEN PROBLEMS
Have same problem.. Its a flashed phone and it was my sisters.. But, we don't know what happened. Phone functions normal. It powers on, and you can touch the keys and the screen and it responds. It has noises to. She has texts so we always hear the noise for it. But the screen doesn't come on. Only the dim backlight is on.

Re: Motorola Droid- SCREEN PROBLEMS
i basically have the same problem with my HTC desire HD running android 4.2
the backlight is clearly on, but the screen is black.
I cant click on anything and unlike other problems above, it's not responding to anything, I've tried calling/testing it from other mobiles but to no avail
I'd taken out my micro SD card and SIM card and it worked fine for a while. after putting the SD card back in it dies again so I thought it was because of something I had on my SD card.
I removed the SD card again and it worked for a couple of seconds before going straight to black.
looking above I don't think any of the solutions above have helped me

Re: Motorola Droid- SCREEN PROBLEMS
If possible, take out the SD card, and when it starts working try uninstalling the last few applications you have installed. That way, if one of those applications is causing a problem, it will be deleted.
You can always try a factory reset, but it will erase everything on the phone and restore it so it is the way it was when you got it.
