I really like my Droid, but in the last couple days the battery is only lasting 2 to 3 hours! The phone is hot! Any ideas, I have turned off automatic syncing, and a bunch of other things.

Re: Problems With Motorola Droid or HTC Droid Eris?

Your battery may be getting hot because of GPS, WiFi, or Bluetooth, Apps shouldn't cause your battery to get hot. The Droid operating system turns on and off Apps all the time, but i those above options may remain on until you turn them off.

I use my GPS for about 5 minutes and it accounted for 14% of the battery drain.

Check the above options in your setting/satus bar (GPS,WiFi, Bluetooth) and make sure their turned off when your not using them, as your last option REBOOT YOUR DROID... and then monitor the Phone/Battery with minimum usage and see if the battery gets hot.

    Some causes...

    High internet usage

    Music

    poor signal/searching for signal

    camera/video

Be careful of 3rd party/bad APPS

Advance App Killer id great for a instant App killer or to see what Apps are running, i usually kill as many Apps as possible before sending (email/messaging) photos/videos and using GPS, other than that i don't really concern myself with Apps running in the background.
