Android 2.2 coming June-ish?

Supposedly coming to the Nexus One first, then to Droid, then to HTC etc etc. Faster OS, less memory hog, cloud to phone transmission, and.... Flash! Woot! We'l see when it ACTUALLY gets released....

If you look at the pattern, all of the things you have mentioned have been mentioned as being added in previous updates that never were.

For example...FLASH! It's supposedly supposed to have been released like 10 times now...but still hasn't been.

Personally, I haven't heard of Android 2.2, but will investigate.

As to flash, search in the market for an app called Skyfire. It replaces your standard stock browser and has some flash like qualities. Try it.

Look up "FroYo" that's the dev name for it. I've seen several articles the past fewdays, most recently on PCWorld. Also supposed to have built in modem tethering and hot spot. I thinkit does everyhthing short of world peace and cleaning up the Gulf oil spill (that's v 2.3)

I don't "look up" things in the essence of like Googling. I work in a Wireless Testing and Development Center here in California, so I have a lot of insight to what the common population doesn't know. I researched and am able to provide everyone with SOME information.

The 2.2 update will NOT occur in June. It is expected to occur on almost all of the HTC Android devices by the end of this year and the Motorola DROID shortly after.

It will include additional updates that weren't mentioned like Tap to Move ANYWHERE. Where you can move your screen icons anywhere.

It's still unclear if Adobe will be releasing Flash. According to the info approved for release I have, Adobe flash will not be included in any update. It will rather be made available via an online or market download whenever Adobe is ready to release it.

Nick- Thanks for the update. I had previously been hearing more akin to what you were saying (flash in 2H '10, as a freestanding element), and I'm already signed up to be a flash Beta tester, whenever that is. As you can imagine, when I saw this article from a "reputable" source (not just some dark corner of the net) I was very excited hoping the timetable had been changed. Either way, can't wait!

if my opinion of all this if Motorola does not deliver froyo by the end of June then its all pointless
