I received an update on 8/12/10. Not sure what one it was, but it does give you a few more home screens.

1 thing I've noticed though, is that my battery will not last. I'll charge it in the morning, and it will be dead by the next morning. I've noticed that when you turn on the internet, that it will be on the same page you were on next time you get on the browser. Used to default back to google home page for me. Not sure if it's not turning off, and it's running the battery dead or what. I use the advanced task killer every time I get out of something. Anybody have any ideas? I don't like charging it twice a day!

    Thanks

I believe if you check your droid is running Froyo update 2.2 for original droid and you have build FRG011 if you check your settings? and according to some web sites after 08/18/2010 all the droids will be finished with that and then Verizon will roll out build FRG022 so stay tuned in for more fun to come

Re: Latest update for the Droid

So I did a system reset on my phone yesterday, and it wiped out my whole phone. I didn't have any icons or anything on my home page. I called tech. support, and they had me try it again. Still nothing. He said he'd send me a new phone today. I just manualy put everything back, and it seems to be working quite a bit better. My batery wasn't dead when I woke up this morning.

Beside flash, is there a list to see for what 2.2 actually does for the Droid?

See thread further up Regarding battery life... the culprit seems to be GPS staying on even after a navigation component is shut down.. at least that seems to be 1 of the issues; probably others as well.

Re: Latest update for the Droid

Brought this over from a different thread....

I got my update this week... woot!

Here's what I've found so far-

    5 home screens (yea!)
Bottom of each home screen has phone / all programs / internet buttons always there
Press bottom L & R corners to move between home screens
    Google translate is installed
    Allows auto-updating of apps
Cosmetic changes on "all apps list"
Voice recogntion, even on my bluetooth
Manage applications window(s) more robust, useful

In terms of battery life - the things that eat my battery up more than anything seem to be-
As someone said, GPS still on in the background (always close out of maps / nav!)
Active widgets, esp ones that keep slamming the server (ESPN scores, Woot-Off checkers, FB widget, to name a few)
Pinging your email server all the time (see below)
If you often go through dead spots where it's looking for service that will devour the battery, but so will areas where your active widgets cant connect regularly due to a weak / 1G signal, they will ping nonstop. I usually make it through a day on half a battery, last month I was at a conference where in the hotel I got a 1G kinda meh signal (was never at "no signal") my battery would be dead by 3 pm each day. Just from the weak signal, I wasn't using the phone any more than normal...
