Hi, I can't post to the motorola forums, because i haven't purchased one yet. I'm holding off until I hear that i can get information from my computer into the phone's address book. I was a bit confused by a post by a motorola employee that says the following:
The ability to store more than one number per name is a functionality of the phone memory only. The SIM card only allows you to save one number per name. It's likely that you are storing your contacts to your SIM card currently.
This phone does not connect to our backup software called Motorola Phone Tools. In your case, I recommend storing all contacts to the phone's memory and then making a copy on your SIM. This way you can use more than one number per contact by using your phones memory to view contacts. But if your phone takes a dunk in the water you'll have them saved to the SIM as well. Another option is to change this phone out for a phone that works with at&t contacts backup(please contact at&t for more details whether this phone is currently compatible or not) or another Motorola at&t phone that will connect to Motorola Phone Tools. Certainly having your contacts backed up gives you peace of mind. The benefit of having a phone that has this capability allows you to be assured that even if your phone is lost/stolen, SIM and all. You have the information safe so that it can be restored to another device.
So can i plug and play with the phone so as to copy address book info from my pc (in csv format) to the phone?
Thank you so much!
