Lately I've run into quite a few posts and auctions offering to sell me info on how to buy a late model sim unlocked GSM phone for $40. In most cases, they were asking $1 for the info. I bit the bullet and decided to risk it all. Turns out that the info is legit, but I don't see why anyone needs to pay for it.
