    Hey guys,

I have a small problem I hope you can help with. When I try to transfer an MP3 file to my razr I get an error message that reads: "system error" about a second after completion of the transfer. The screen momentarily shifts to the 'play file' screen and the soft key shows "store." This screen shows for less than a second before I get the system error message.

Some background... This only occurs when I transfer mp3 files I've made. MP3 files made by some of you transfer without incident. I use a Mac running OSX.3. I edit my MP3s in quicktime pro then import the edited file into itunes. From there I use a service in itunes to convert the selected file to mp3 format.

Anyone have any idea what may be happening?

    Thanks,

    -Ted

I had the same error message when I had installed a bunch of .jar archives(games) on my v3. I fixed it by doing a master reset..

You won't lose anything(games, rings, pics) if you do that. Just don't do a master clear(that will get rid of everything)

If that doesn't help consider the folowing...
Is the .mp3 a large one? I don't think the phone will handle large files.
What program did you use to make the mp3? Maybe a setting in the program changed it to some bitrate the phone can't read..

I'm wondering if the phone can handle variable bit rate encodes, though I've not tried them..

I'm using sound forge 7 and no probs on the PC w/xpee2.

Hope you get it resolved.... The easy fix for me was the master reset. Just make sure you have your security code....

Thanks OldDirty. I'll look into that.
