On mine the auto update was the only thing that worked, it seemed the internal clock was not working. Then after a few days everything works, it must have had an update from verizon, but nobody let me know about it. Any way the phone seems to be working great, and I am happy with it now.

I just got the Razor from Verizon and I noticed the problem after a day or two. I took it back to Verizon last nite and they gave me a new phone.
Today I noticed it was doing the same thing in terms of the time freezing. What is the code that verizon uses to update your software on your phone? I know there is a number you can dial to update the phone but I can't remember what it is. I want to try that.
Should I try and return the phone and get another or is it just software related? I love the phone but the time feature is very important for me.

This is not a regionally isolated problem. I live in FL and I have had my Razr for 10 days. I woke up the other morning and my Razr said it was 4:20am. When I picked it up and used it, it corrected to 7:35. Not a problem, unless I had my scheduler or alarm set to 6:30 so that I could get to an important 7:30 breakfast meeting.
Maybe there's another thread on this one but I'll mention it anyway. The user manual says you can set up the ringtone to alarm and vibrate but I've only been able to get one or the other. Have I missed something?

i just picked up a V3c this past sunday, and noticed monday morning that the time was out of whack. it was about 7:30 AM, yet both the outside display and the "dashboard" said it was about 3:45 AM. not until i actually DID something (go into contacts, settings, etc) did the time update itself.
i called verizon tech support today, and they are aware of it, saying it's a software problem. i was first told to try the *228 thing, to "update" the phone (recommended every 30 days?), but i get an Activation Unsuccessful message after 20-30 seconds. since that isn't working, i was then told i can have it replaced free of charge with an updated phone.
how annoying ...

i found out - from another forum - that you need to use *22890 to update the phone. and after turning it off for 30+ minutes, all seems to have come into balance with my V3c.

My Razr did the same thing for the first two days. I tried every possible
setting change I could find, nothing worked I Finally just shut it off for about
4-5 minutes and it has been fine since. Granted that was this morning, so I hope it doesn't do it again.
Question: After activation and programing did you turn phone off?
Curious if those who did not are the ones with this issue. I didn't.
I wonder if it is like a pc anytime you change a setting or get an update
you must restart the computer in order for all changes to go into effect.
Thanks CR

Cool. I can change my name.
So, I had gone thru 2 phones. Nobody at the Verizon shop said they had heard about this problem. The third phone had the same problem. Finally I came here and found this thread.
*22890 followed by powerdown and powerup solved the problem.
Thanks. I'll let the vendor know.
